Welcome

Assalam Alaikum/ Greetings of Peace. Welcome to the launch of the new and improved Trade Not Riba dot Com website and my first blog post! My name is Dr. Thamina Anwar, founder of this organization. I am so excited to share with you MORE of what Trade Not Riba dot Com

has to offer! The state of art ideas on how to transform your existing enterprise or to even start from ground zero, the how-to’s with so many inspirations whirling around in my head is ready to jump out. I wanted to start by telling you why I created this blog, what you will be seeing more of in my posts, and my overall experience of revamping my website.

Some of of you would know that I had launched Trade Not Riba dot Com previously but decided to resign the my whole organizational and business structure. Why? Well there are many reasons for it. Firstly we all know a business is a living and breathing canvas which has to move with time if not it becomes “obsolete” . Then  I am about to launch my new book in the next few months, In my new book, many things are a continue thought of my mindset.  There are also new ways of how I believe social enterprises should operate to make meaningful impact especially during these very difficult climate under which businesses have to survive.

Since I started my business, many of my friends/associates/well-wishers have asked me “Why don’t you start a blog?!” and up until a few months ago did I truly know what a “blog” was. I never clicked on blog links, I never understood WHY people wrote blogs, I just thought it was a waste of time to even look into it. WRONG I WAS. After doing much research and making friends with a few bloggers along the way, who have been so kind to offer much support and advice, I have become completely consumed with inspiration to start a blog for Trade Not Riba dot Com. I have finally realized all of the benefits that blogging can bring.

What will you  be seeing more of in my blogs? : How people can become a social entrepreneur is  obviously the main topic of my future blogs, but get ready because you will be seeing much more of the main face behind Trade Not Riba dot Come (that’s me!!!). Yes I even kept the “admin” status as I am so excited about blogging  – you see I love to write and express my thoughts including what is in my mind. People who know me well know I am a very extroverted person and blogging is a new channel of communication especially since 2020 changed many things in this world.

So my blogs will not just include boring theories but also life in general and current affairs. I might write about my gym workouts (weightlifting), at times I might write about food, my travels, etc. Why? Because as a social entrepreneur you need to be aware of what is happening all around you – including global politics .One needs to be an “all rounder”.  I might even discuss fashion – the new trend, my favourite products (without marketing the brands) and even highlight other businesses /enterprises. At times, I might even discuss my family issues with my kids. This is to ensure you too know that I am like you or any other human being living in this dunia (world), a real person who also has many real issues – it is not all “fairy land” stuff !!! I will pose and post photos of myself and others to  entertain you. And the selfies will alter according to my mood!!!

Although I am an economic author and I love to write (and read), but  let me tell you this now.  I am no expert on all topics. I may be a “perfectionist” but I am nowhere near perfect. I figure it will be a lot of trial and error so please bear with me on any grammar/spelling mistakes (disclaimer – I like to talk with many dashes and parentheses) and please feel free to always share your advice and communicate with me along the way! I hope to inspire you because truthfully, you all inspire me and I am SO looking forward to bringing you a a different mindset of doing business for not just making profit but also for making a lasting social impact which is so much needed all around the world.

After being inspired to start my blog, I wanted to act fast. This is not a fast task people. Not only did I want to start a blog, but after having my consulting  business for  a few years, I was ready to totally revamp my brand and website which I created on my own. I even created this website myself (people close to me know  that my background is engineering (Electronic engineering to be precise) and most of initial career concentrated on software engineering in Auckland, New Zealand. I am telling you this because as I want you to know that I not only have first hand knowledge on various fields but I am extremely passionate in what I do. I am a person who when sets her mind in something gives her “101 percent”.

I run other businesses – I am also a lifestyle coach who is also very active in podcasting. It was my children who adviced me to PodCast as they know me well – I like to “talk” (yes I know I am not a typical boring engineer).  The topics of my podcasts change according to what I think is a current issue in life. I will share my podcasts with you all soon – although that is another business. So stay tune and connect up with me regularly. Together we can change the world – you can be the change maker – lets hold hands and make the change together! Lets make this dunia (world) a better place for all.
